Gram Panchayat made three out of one
The story of a single scheme using MGNREGA at Nagdah Balain in Benipatti block Madhubani

Visited site along with panchayat personnel’s and pointed by village head; scheme was meant for solving the problem of waterlogged area. At the same time found that of excavation of soil from water course can be used to raise earthen dam at the distance of 400 feet of say 3 to 4 feet height water can stored in water course for irrigation purpose and nearby dwelling community (mostly fisherman) can use the structure for fisheries.
All agreed on this point and thus scheme was executed in this fashion. Scheme primarily concerned with eradicating the problem of waterlogged area, secondarily structure stored the water for irrigation but allowing water to pass by over 3-4 feet, fishery purpose and earthen dam serves as rural connectivity for people dwelling on either side of existing structure.
